Aunt Jemima (we like to call her that when she wears her head band) turned one month today. She doesn't do much besides eat, sleep, and poop but boy is she fun to cuddle with...Its this gals favorite thing to do during the day. It's been impossible to keep her away from the baby while she is getting over a nasty head cold.

Cousins
Here are some of the girl cousins finally meeting June.
BrookeCami LOVED her. As you can see...KenzieLyvi is always asking to hold June. Mostly when other people are holding her. So Cami took one for the team and let Lyvi hold her.I can't wait for these girls to grow up and be the best of friends.

Today...
Lil Sis is 3 weeks.
To celebrate we're going to venture out to Sacrament meeting. Wish us luck.
Side note:
We are in the middle of trying to potty train Lyvi. She HATES it. So we're putting it on hold for right now until she is ready BUT she has gone pee a couple of times in the toilet. The other day while visiting Justin's parents she pooped in their toilet. So she got to go to Walmart and pick out a toy. I guess she is following in her mothers foot steps. She picked out a hairstyling kit...
(our friends the Ferrins)
So if you come over to visit be ready for a makeover.

Home at last
Saturday August 28th I went into the hospital to be induced a week early. I had a ultra sound a week before and the baby still hadn't dropped, and she was measuring pretty big so my doctor decided to induce. Things were going great... they gave me some drugs to get the slow process of induction started. On Sunday afternoon, I started feeling some major contractions. Thankfully I had already received my epidural hours earlier. At around 6:30 I finally felt like starting to push. Because I hadn't slept well the night before and hadn't eaten anything all day, I had NO energy. I pushed for an hour, but because June was posterior (upside down) she was not budging. I learned alot about this little girl's personality during this time. Because of how tired I was the doctor and nurse(DUDE) decided it would be best for me to take a break, and try to regain some energy and maybe a little composure. I rested for about an hour, if you can call that rest, and then decided to give it another shot. I was in quite a bit of pain and very tired again after another 45 minutes of pushing when the doctor decided that it would be a good idea to use a vacuum to help her come out. About 15 minutes later at 9:53pm our little June bug was born. She came out coughing (or so I am told) from swallowing amniotic fluid and blood and was rushed immediately to the NICU to get treated. I on the other hand, was so happy that she was FINALLY OUT! I didn't have much time to be relieved before I realized there were about 8 nurses and a doctor running around trying to stop me from continually bleeding. They were successful in the end, and I will leave out the gory details for the weak stomachs out there. I did end up receiving two blood transfusions for the blood I lost during the delivery. The next morning, I still could not get out of bed, but my focus definitely turned to my new little girl. She had been rushed to the NICU, and we had been told she would be ok. Justin went to visit her several times and would give me updates. At this point in time we were still not sure what was wrong with her. They knew she had swallowed some fluid so they immediately started her on antibiotics. Monday I could not do anything so I just stayed in bed. They moved me from the labor and delivery room to a postpartum room on Monday. Tuesday at about 1:15am a doctor came into our room. He was there to give us an update on June. He said that she had ruptured a lung that night. I was heavily medicated and Justin was asleep on the couch when he told us this and when Justin heard this he almost hit the ceiling. They said they would have to insert a tube through her ribs and into her lungs to release excess air. We both were a nervous wreck and said a prayer together that night, that little June would be ok. Tuesday morning I still wasn't feeling great so my doctor decided to give me my second blood transfusion. At this point June was still not doing great. She had the tube in her side until Thursday, and was receiving oxygen to help her breath. Justin and his Dad gave June and me a blessing on Tuesday morning. By Tuesday night I was feeling much better, and by Wednesday night I was kicked out... I mean asked to leave. I did not want to leave the hospital without my little girl. I was hoping to drag it out as long as possible so I would not have to leave June at the hospital by herself. This however did not work and as previously mentioned I got the boot on Wednesday night. Thursday morning they told us June either had pneumonia or a collapsed lung on the opposite side that they had not put the tube in to. They also told me that the tube must be very painful. I started crying when I heard this and felt so bad for my little girl who had just come into the world and was already experiencing this pain. June got her tube taken out of the other side later that morning. This was a HUGE landmark for us because this meant that we could finally hold her. I was the first to hold her and then Justin. It was so good to finally hold my sweet new little girl. She was so pretty, and I felt so bad that she was hooked up to so many wires and other tools that were making sure she was breathing well and everything else was ok but realized these were for her own good. I LOVED holding this little girl. She was so precious, and sweet and she never cried. She was definitely the most well behaved kid in the NICU. From the day she got her tube she got better and better everyday. We would go to see her as often as we could. This went on until Wednesday of the next week when we were finally able to bring her home. We feel so blessed that she is finally feeling better and love to have her at home. Lyvi is so cute with her and loves to hold her and help feed her. Today Lyvi woke up at 6am and went to look at June's crib to see if she was awake every ten minutes until she woke. It is great to have her home and we look forward to having her home for years to come..... well at most 18.....jk. Lyvi meeting her baby SisBaby girl was a bit Jaundice
